Daniel Similaki created the ACCSN. The vision and goal were born because of years of frustration about the lack of initiatives promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the commercial science sector. In the light of his own experience, it was challenging envisaging career progression due to the lack of black and ethnic role models in commercial science industry.

DANIEL SIMILAKI – PHARMA ACCOUNT MANAGER & DE&I EU LEAD

Daniel Similaki is a German born Afro European. He has a background in chemistry with a BSc honours degree in Chemistry. As part of his placement year, he was able to gain laboratory experience in two different institutions, one as a research technician at the University of Huddersfield where he studied and as a dye technician at ones of UK’s leading textile manufacturers. He has a wealth of experience in the commercial science industry both in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry since completing his university education. He is also currently a DE&I lead in current employment. Daniel is a big believer in giving back to the world as much as possible and volunteered to go to Africa for 2 years and 7 months on a medical outreach programme. During that life-changing experience he was graced to visit many countries such as Botswana, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Mozambique, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia. Daniel is positioned suitably to head this organisation as a consequence of his wealthy personal and industry experience
